The Democrats have won control of the House of Representatives. That’s good – it should mean that Bush can’t do absolutely everything he wants. The Senate is still open although it looks like the GOP have held that one.
The BBC is saying that the two Senate independents are going to vote with the Democrats. While that may be true of Sanders in Vermont, is it really so likely that Lieberman in Connecticut will do the same given that he was deselected by his own party?
George Allen may be on his way out too. With 99% of votes in, Webb is just fractionally ahead.
